Gastroenterology conference from Nov 19

Medical experts from across the globe will soon share the platform at four-day 56th annual gastroenterology conference, 'ISGCON-2015', in the city. Secretary of organizing committee of ISGCON 2015, Dr Ajay Kumar Jain, said the conference will have numerous technical sessions for four days. The event, scheduled to start from November 19, is expected to witness participation by more than 1,500 delegates from various countries, including Spain, UK, USA, Australia, Scotland, Japan, Germany, Canada and Finland. The conference is being organised by Choithram Hospital and Research Centre and GI Club of Indore.

Organ Transplant Workshop Held at IIM Indore

In order to clarify the myths related to organ donation and how organ transplant can help the needy, a workshop on ‘Importance of Organ Donation’ was held at IIM Indore on July 24, 2017. The workshop was organized by a team of doctors from Choithram Hospital and Research Centre along with support from Indore Society of Organ Donation. Dr. Ajay Kumar Jain, Head, Department of Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation and Director, Choithram Hospital and Research Centre, Indore was the speaker for the workshop.

Indore: Indore's feat of carrying out the first cadaver liver transplant surgery in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday has a history behind it. The preparations for the surgery had been on at Choithram Hospital for the last six to seven months. Hospital doctors, led by Dr Ajay Kumar Jain, collaborated with a team of doctors from Fortis Hospital, Delhi, led by Dr Amitabh Shrivastav, to harvest the liver from Chandrapal's body and transplant it successfully into Ajay Agrawal (60).
