Dr Ajay Kumar Jain was recently elected as the Treasurer of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the largest professional society of gastroenterologists in the country, during the meeting of the society’s general body. Consequently, he will serve a three-term on the governing body of ISG, helping advance its mission and the profession of gastroenterology in India. Previously, he served as an elected member of the governing council of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology for a 3-year term.

Indore: Dad lives on with part of son’s liver

A 22-year-old boy has given a new lease of life to his 51-year-old father, ailing from liver cirrhosis, by donating part of his liver. The son has given 70 per cent of his liver and saved his father’s life after complex surgery conducted in Choithram Hospital and Research Centre.

Gastroenterology conference from Nov 19

Medical experts from across the globe will soon share the platform at four-day 56th annual gastroenterology conference, 'ISGCON-2015', in the city. Secretary of organizing committee of ISGCON 2015, Dr Ajay Kumar Jain, said the conference will have numerous technical sessions for four days. The event, scheduled to start from November 19, is expected to witness participation by more than 1,500 delegates from various countries, including Spain, UK, USA, Australia, Scotland, Japan, Germany, Canada and Finland. The conference is being organised by Choithram Hospital and Research Centre and GI Club of Indore.
